Andrew Capelin

Principal Director

Andrew Capelin is the Principal of Capelin Law; he is a lawyer, mediator and collaborative practitioner with over 25 years of experience in legal practice and business. Capelin Law is built on the belief in making every effort to help people resolve their issues without using a court. This approach is faster, cheaper and less stressful. Therefore we believe it is just a better way of doing things.

Andrew practiced as a barrister for about 10 years which makes him very competent and confident in a courtroom! Ironically, Andrew now handles very few litigation matters these days, preferring to focus on helping families resolve their issues collaboratively.   

Consequently, Andrew finds collaborative practice to be a very fulfilling part of the work that he does and is passionate in his belief that it gives better outcomes for families. 

Andrew’s other passion is playing golf.

Kar Na is the Estate Planning Lawyer at Capelin Law. Kar Na’s career began in boutique law firms specialising in business and personal succession. Throughout the years, she has had the privilege of assisting numerous clients in navigating complex family circumstances and addressing their estate planning concerns. With more than a decade of experience working in Private Wealth Teams, Kar Na has developed a deep understanding of the intricacies involved in estate planning.

Kar Na’s expertise lies in making the estate planning journey a smooth and easy process for her clients. She understands the importance of crafting tailored solutions that align with individual needs, and she takes pride in delivering comprehensive strategies that provide peace of mind for the future.

Amy Mao

Senior Paralegal

Amy began her career in family law in 2022 after her own separation.

During this time, Amy gained broad experience across financial and parenting matters; specifically spouse maintenance and complex parenting matters.

Her philosophy is pragmatic, with a focus on helping her clients move forward with integrity.

Outside of work, Amy enjoys playdates with her 3 year old, medieval history and reformer pilates.

Anna Kristina Felichi Importante

Paralegal

Anna is a paralegal with a decade of experience in the legal field. She brings a unique blend of expertise and empathy to her role. Her background in nursing allows her to empathise deeply with clients, providing them with the support and understanding they need during difficult times.

Having lived in a blended family, she has intimate knowledge of the complexities of family dynamics, making her particularly skilled at navigating family law and estate planning matters.

In her free time, Anna likes to care for foster cats and explore new destinations through travel. These pursuits reflect her nurturing nature and adventurous spirit, which shine through in her dedication to her clients’ needs.

Ann Marie

Paralegal

Ann Marie is a paralegal and currently studying law with interests in family law as well as estate planning and administration.

At Capelin Law, she is often a first point of contact for new clients and existing clients.

In line with the Capelin Law’s mission of collaborative law, she keen to facilitate ease and simplicity in complex matters.

Outside of working and studying, Ann Marie likes open water swimming and spending time with her family.
